How this site may be used, and the plain shape of a working engagement. Specific projects are always confirmed in a written quote.

Using this site

This website is published by a3b, a one-person video editing brand based in Australia. Its content — words, layout, the brand system — is owned by a3b. You are welcome to read, link to, and share it. Please do not copy it wholesale or pass the brand off as your own.

The work shown

While the public reel is being assembled, the pieces shown under Work are clearly marked archetypes — they describe how a3b approaches a kind of project, not delivered client work. Real, delivered pieces will replace them and will be labelled as such.

Enquiries and quotes

A brief request or email is an enquiry, not a contract. Nothing is booked until a written quote is sent and agreed. Prices listed on the site are starting points in Australian dollars; the figure that applies to your project is the one in your quote.

How an engagement works

Every engagement is confirmed in writing before work begins. The written quote sets out the deliverables, the price, the number of revision rounds, the schedule, and what is needed from you. The plain shape is consistent:

  • Work is priced per project, not per hour.
  • Two rounds of revisions are included unless a quote says otherwise.
  • You provide the footage and the inputs; a3b provides the edit, grade, sound, and finishing.
  • Final files are delivered once the agreed fee is settled in full.

Ownership of finished work

On full payment, you own the finished films for the use described in your quote. a3b keeps the right to show the finished work as part of its own portfolio unless your quote agrees otherwise — useful, for example, where a project is confidential.

Fit

a3b only takes on work that fits the calm, considered aesthetic. If a project would be better served by a different approach, you will be told that directly rather than sold something that will not land.

Liability

a3b takes care with every engagement. To the extent the law allows, a3b is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and any liability is limited to the fee paid for the work in question. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under Australian Consumer Law.

Changes

These terms may be updated; the date at the top changes when they are. The terms that apply to your project are the ones in force when your quote is agreed.

A note before launch: this is a plain-language starting point, not legal advice. Have it reviewed by someone qualified in Australian law before the site goes live, and align it with the actual contract or quote template a3b uses.
